History of Casa da Urra
Casa da Urra is located next to the picturesque village of Urra, overlooking the charming town of Portalegre. It was restored from the ruins in 2013 by a couple of doctors linked to art and culture. Set in a pleasant location, between vineyards, pastures for sheep and cork oak groves, this 180-hectare estate rises in the heart of the Alto Alentejo, where the plains shrink to give way to the breathtaking Serra de São Mamede. The Casa da Urra project, born around viticulture, was later extended to agro-tourism and wine tourism, and today has five lodges and a wide range of the region's best wines.
